TranscribeFast

YouTube transcripts in every caption language

If a video has caption tracks in several languages, the language switcher above the transcript flips between them instantly — original or translated, human-made or auto-generated.

How translated transcripts work

Many creators upload subtitles in several languages, and YouTube auto-generates captions in the video's spoken language. TranscribeFast lists every track the video has — pick one from the dropdown and the whole transcript re-renders in that language. For languages the video doesn't have, use "copy for ChatGPT" and ask the AI to translate: modern models translate transcripts fluently.

How to get a YouTube transcript

  1. Copy the video URL from YouTube (watch page, Shorts, or youtu.be link).
  2. Paste it into the box above and press Get transcript.
  3. Read the transcript as clean paragraphs, or switch on timestamps.
  4. Copy it, send it to ChatGPT, or download it as TXT, SRT, or Markdown.

TranscribeFast uses the captions YouTube already has for the video — auto-generated or uploaded by the creator — so most transcripts are ready in seconds, not minutes. Once a video has been fetched, it loads instantly for everyone.

Frequently asked questions

Is TranscribeFast free?

Yes. Getting a transcript is free, with no ads and no account. Bulk access for developers is coming as a paid API.

Does it work for videos without captions?

No. TranscribeFast reads the captions YouTube stores for the video. If a video has no captions at all (common for music videos), there is nothing to fetch. Videos with auto-generated captions work fine.

Which languages are supported?

Every language the video has captions in. If a video has several caption tracks, use the language switcher above the transcript.

Can I get timestamps?

Yes. Toggle "show timestamps" to see the start time of every line. Each timestamp links to that moment in the video. The SRT export keeps full timing.

How do I summarize a YouTube video with AI?

Press "copy for ChatGPT". It copies the transcript with a ready-made summary prompt — paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, or any AI assistant.

Do YouTube Shorts work?

Yes. Paste any Shorts URL and it resolves like a normal video.
