Privacy policy
Last updated 26 October 2026
TranscribeFast has no accounts and shows no ads. This page lists everything the site stores or shares, and why.
Videos and transcripts
- When you ask for a transcript, the site stores the video ID and the transcript YouTube returns, so the next visitor gets it instantly. Anyone with the link to a transcript page can see it. The site does not record who asked for which video.
- If a fetch fails, the video ID goes into a retry list with the time of the request, until a retry succeeds or gives up.
- To fetch captions, our servers contact YouTube through a proxy provider. Only the video ID is sent, never anything about you.
AI summaries and translations
When you ask for a summary or translation, the transcript text and the video title are sent to Anthropic, the maker of the Claude AI model, which writes the result. Nothing about you is sent. The result is stored and shown to anyone who asks for the same video. Anthropic's handling of API data is described in its privacy policy.
Emails and messages
If you join the early-access list or use the contact form, the site stores your email address and message. They are used only to answer you or to tell you when file transcription launches. To have them deleted, send a request through the contact page.
Analytics
TranscribeFast uses DataDad to understand visits to the transcript tool and its guide pages. This analytics setup does not send pasted video links, transcript text, or downloaded captions as custom events. It records clicks on some buttons (for example "copy" or "download") by name only.
The tracker sends page paths, referring pages, and campaign details. DataDad processes request IP addresses and browser information to derive approximate location, browser and device categories, and a daily visitor identifier specific to this website. It is cookieless and keeps the temporary tab identifier in page memory. Separately, DataDad's servers check whether the website responds and measure response time. How DataDad handles analytics.
Hosting and the video player
- The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses and request details to deliver pages and block attacks. Request logs are kept for a few days to find and fix errors.
- The YouTube player on a transcript page loads only when you press play. It loads from youtube-nocookie.com, and from then on Google's privacy policy applies to the player.
- Fonts load from Google Fonts.
Cookies
TranscribeFast sets no cookies. The YouTube player may set its own once you press play.
